Born to a single mother within a household of five children, Jones had a difficult and difficult growing up. Her mother was always shifting and even lived at the bottom of her home. Jones began her athletic career at the college level as one of the top hurdlers. In 2002, at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in 2002, Jones took home the 100 meter hurdles. She was also on the team which finished second in the 100 meter relay. In 2003 and 2004 Jones took home the indoor hurdles event during the NCAA Championship. Jones has been training since 2005 when she graduated from her college studies. She was the winner of each of her events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track competitions during the same season.

Brandt born within Cape Town South Africa with her parents and siblings moved from Cape Town South Africa to Auckland New Zealand when she was in her late teens. Discovered by local casting directors Brandt assumed the character of Naevia for the Starz hits Spartacus: Blood and Sand as well as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. She was one of the main stars of this series, working with Steven S. D Knight & Sam Raimi. Mazikeen, a fan-favorite Vertigo/DC character from comic books as well as the Vertigo/DC series Lucifer played her part in this hit Netflix show. Lesley-Ann Brandt, a South African actress born in Cape Town on the 2nd of December 1981. She is a talented New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt moved with her entire New Zealand family to Auckland in the year 1999. In Auckland Brandt started out as sales representative and was later elevated to the position of an expert in IT. After a few modelling projects, Lesley appeared in many commercials. In 2008, she completed her acting studies. In 2009, she began her acting studies, she continued training using the Meisner approach to study. The first time she was seen on screen in New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up on The New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street with a role as a supporting character. Then she appeared on the Sci-fi thriller This Is Not My Life that is based upon anecdotal Waimoana. Lesley Brandt starred in the television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia as a hostage. She later appeared in the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries.
